Winton Ozell Cunningham, Jr., 88, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his daughter’s residence following a period of declining health. He was born on September 13, 1937, in Morven, Georgia to the late, Winton Ozell, Sr., and Francis Treadaway Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham was retired from Asplundh Tree Company where he served as a general foreman and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Bruce Waller, Tanya and Kevin Zipperrer all of Valdosta; his son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Teresa Cunningham and his daughter, Rhonda Tomlinson Rouse all of Valdosta, and son and daughter-in-law, Chris Cunningham and Kristin Becton of Valdosta; grandchildren and their spouse, Kristy and Buck Paulk, Kerri Strickland, Trey and Mallory Tomlinson, Kevin and Anna Zipperer, Jessica Taibl, Chaise Tomlinson, Tiffany and Juan Dean, Amanda Waller, Rick and Stephanie Pearson, Stephen and Bianca Deacon, Chelsea Cunningham, Bella Becton, Tory and Caleb Courson, and Duane and Julia Cunningham; 27 greatgrandchildren and 1 great-greatgrandchild; his siblings and their spouses, T.J and Ann Harris, Mary Singleton, and David and Shirley Cunningham; a sister-in-law, Janice Cunningham, and a special friend, Anita Sinnott; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his wife, Helen Cunningham, and his brother, Jerry Cunningham.

Services for Winton Cunningham will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Luke and Rev. Tommy Bussey officiating. The burial will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
