William Richard Vanartsdalen, Jr.

William Richard VanArtsdalen, Jr., U.S. Army MSgt. (Ret.), 69, of Valdosta and formerly of Waycross, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at his home.

He was born June 3, 1943 in National City, CA, a son of the late William Richard and Clara Ross VanArtsdalen. Ric honorably served our country in the U.S. Army for twenty years.

He is survived by three children, Janet Lorraine Lairsey and husband Phil of Waycross, GA; Sharmyn Lynn Fowler and husband Michael of Goldendale, WA, and Robert Keith Crawford and girlfriend Ivy Herbert of Deltona, FL; seven grandchildren, Stion Phillip Lairsey, twins Kelsey Madison and Lauren MacKenzie Lairsey, Mischa Raelynn Fowler, Dakohta Jesse Crawford, Alexander Herbert and Katrina Herbert; and a sister, Barbara Clare Gunter and husband Dave of Red Bluff, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorean "Lore" VanArtsdalen on August 26, 2011.

There will be no services.
