William James Chase

June 27, 1943 — February 14, 2023

William James Chase, 79, of Valdosta, GA died on February 14, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA surrounded by loving family.

William was born on June 27, 1943, in Providence, RI, son of Henry Francis and Ellen May (Hannah) Chase and was the loving husband to Janice Leigh (Aspinall) Chase.

William was a member of the CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) as well as the VFW and DAV (Disabled American Vets) as well as the American Legion. William grew up in Rhode Island, and lived many years in Troy, NY and recently moved to South Georgia about 18 months ago. William had a deep love for horses and spending time with family.

William is a proud Military veteran of 37 years serving in the Army for three years, the Air Force for seventeen years and the Army Corps of Engineers for seventeen years. William also served his community as a volunteer fireman for 35 years in Troy, NY at Eagle Mills Fire Station #10.

Besides his loving wife Janice, William is survived by his two daughters, Katherine Leigh Armagost of Hahira and Kristine Marie Lister of TX; a son William James Chase Jr. of Valdosta; twelve grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Elizabeth Ruth Bligh of Beckley, WV.

Burial and full military honors will be held on Tuesday February 21, 2023, beginning at 2pm at the Tallahassee National Veterans Cemetery, Tallahassee, FL. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com Carson McLane Funeral Home
