Wendell Leroy Browning, 76, of Lake Park, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

He was born on August 13, 1949, in Adel, Georgia, to the late Heyward Chester Browning and Mary Dunn Browning. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Wendell served during the Vietnam era. While stationed in Korea, he met the love of his life, Chong Hoe, and the couple shared 57 years of marriage.

Wendell was a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge, where he held the position of Commander. He retired after many years as a salesman with Flowers Baking Company.

Mr. Browning is survived by his wife, Chong Hoe Browning; his son, Michael S. Browning; his daughter, Chong Mey Browning; his grandson, Michael D. Browning; his granddaughter, Alyssa K. Browning; his great-grandchildren, Ayden Browning and Kai Browning; his sister, Nelda Joiner (Jack); his brothers, Heyward Browning (Ellen), Martin Browning (Jean), Steven Browning, and Russell Browning (Karmen); his sisters-in-law, Vicki Browning and Yun Hoe Lowe; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Browning.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. A private burial will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery in Nashville, Georgia.
