Wanda Jeanette Ellis

Wanda Jeanette Ellis, 69, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on December 4, 1943 in Sunman, Indiana to the late Shiloh and Margaret Davidson Back. She was a retired bus driver for the Lowndes County School System. Mrs. Ellis was an active member and worker with First Baptist Church of Lake Park were she also served as a Sunday school teacher, with AWANA and was involved with Terrific Tuesdays.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Bob Ellis of Valdosta; a son and daughter-in-law, Alfred L., Jr. and Cindy Ellis of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Deanna Lynn and John Lucas of Foley, Alabama; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Glenn and Wendy Ellis and Henry Christopher Ellis all of Valdosta; grandchildren and their spouses, Alan and Megan Ellis of Hahira, Robert Christopher and Erica Ellis of Lake Park, Ashlie and Jonathan Stanley of Brunswick, Austin and Cheyenne Ellis of Virginia, Lindsay and Kin Mendiola of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Colby Ellis, Dalton Ellis, Trey Faircloth, Leslie and Charles Shaffer all of Valdosta; great-grandchildren, Hayden Ellis, Korbin Stanley, Dylan Ellis, Mackenzie Elswick, Raeden Mendiola, Anslee Shaffer and Taylor Faircloth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Shiloh and Carolyn Back of Valdosta, Dale and Debbie Back, and Glenn and Angie Back all of Cocoa, Florida; a sister and brother-in-law, Trena and Tony Brigdon of Jesup, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Back and a grandson, Joshua Matis.

Services for Wanda Back Ellis will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2013 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Dawson and Rev. Jason Spells officiating. The burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
