Wanda Faye Thompson

Wanda Faye Thompson, 80, of Lake Park passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022. She was born on January 2, 1942, in Crab Orchard, TN to the late Elmer Harley Thompson and Myrtle Bell Chaffin Thompson. Ms. Thompson enjoyed crocheting, quilting, flowers, crafts, and doing puzzles. She listened to gospel music and enjoyed cooking. Ms. Thompson was a caregiver for 20 years and cared for many. She loved people and caring for others. She loved the Lord and serving others through ministry. Ms. Thompson was a longstanding member of the Church of God.

Ms. Thompson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Russell Dean (Carol) Brooks, Adel; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Lennett (Scott) Schaffer, Suwannee, TN; grandchildren, Casey Thompson, Crab Orchard, TN, Samantha Lutz, Chicago; great grandchildren, Alex Thompson, Joey Thompson, LaFollette, TN; three brothers, Redgie (Ann) Thompson, Crossville, TN, Stephen Thompson, Sr., Jacksonville, FL, Leroy Thompson, Lee, FL; two sisters, Mary Anderson, Lake Park, Elieleen (Don) Fawnestock, Crab Orchard, TN; three sisters-in-law, Jenith Thompson, JoAnn Thompson, and Marie Thompson. She was preceded in death by, her parents, son Kenneth Brooks, brothers Dewey Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Lonnie Thompson, and sister Cheryl Dixon.

Services for Ms. Thompson will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Reverend Daryl Pate officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lake Park City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the family.
