Wallace James Greene

Wallace James Greene, 84, of Valdosta, died on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Langdale Hospice House. Born in Quitman, to the late Christopher C. Greene and Cora Lee Connell Greene, he was a lifelong resident of South Georgia. Wallace was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and a member of Northside Baptist Church for 53 years. He worked in the insurance business for 59 years. He retired from Prudential Insurance after 25 years, but continued teaching insurance classes for many in the community until recently. Wallace was truly one of a kind; He was adored by all for his love for the Lord, his family, and his witty sense of humor.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Wendy and Mark Kozma of Grayson, Georgia, and Tracy Jones of Valdosta; six grandchildren, Christy (Kozma) Sentelle and her husband Mark Sentelle, Alison (Jones) Thomas and her husband Brett Thomas, Kelly (Kozma) Lock and her husband Kennen Lock, Jared Kozma, Darby Jones, and Perri (Jones) Buckner and her husband Cole Buckner; his great grandchildren, Madison Sentelle, Ansley Sentelle, Emma Kathryn Lock, Stellan Thomas, Shepard Thomas, Alivia Klaire Lock, Kalyn Lock, Penelope Lock, and Sophie Sentelle; his brothers and sisters, Larry Greene, Vivian Bailey (Charles), and Juanita Halcome (Dave). He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Ann Bius Greene, his son-in-law Phillip Gregory Jones, his sisters and brothers William C. Greene, Inez Shepherd, Freddy Greene, and Harry Greene.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Northside Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at McLane Riverview Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7pm at the church.
