W. G. Walker, 79, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026. He was born on January 17, 1947, in Valdosta to the late W. G. Walker, Sr. and Emma Walker. Mr. Walker was the owner and operator of Walker Saw Sales. He was a dedicated public servant, having served as a County Commissioner for the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners and as a Tax Assessor for Lowndes County. He was a lifelong member of Central Avenue Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Walker of Valdosta; daughters, Shanna (Kerry) Quinn and Shea Walker (Troy Kiick), both of Valdosta; grandchildren, John Quinn and Christopher Quinn, along with five bonus grandchildren; and sisters, Beverly Westberry and Linda Raddant, both of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Q. Walker; and sister, Marie Copeland.

Mr. Walker's family will receive friends at Carson McLane Funeral Home on Thursday evening, September 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
