Vivian S. Coody

Vivian S. Coody, 76, of Valdosta, died Friday, August 25, 2006 at her residence. She was born on Sept. 11, 1929 in Ray City, GA to the late Oscar Huey and Doris Ann DeLoach Scarborough. Mrs. Coody was retired from work as an operator with Southern Bell Telephone for 31 years. She was a member of Pioneers of America with Southern Bell. She was a member of the Lake Park Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter and son in law, Donna & Jay Zeigler of Savannah; one son, Larry Coody of Valdosta; two grandsons, Jason & Daniel Zeigler of Savannah; one sister and brother in law, Carolyn & Dave Hughes of Graceville, FL, several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Leon W. Coody, precedes her in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 28, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Dawson and Rev. Charles Scarbrough officiating. Burial will be held in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
