Vicki Rowe

August 31, 1959 — July 23, 2023

Mrs. Vicki Rowe, 63, of Valdosta, passed into eternal life peacefully at her home in the loving arms of her husband, surrounded by her family on Sunday July 23, 2023, following a courageous 5-year battle with cancer. She was born on August 31, 1959, at Ramey AFB in Puerto Rico to Billy and Wilma Corbett Rentz, both of whom preceded her in death. As the daughter of a career military man, she lived in several states during her childhood including South Dakota, Georgia, and California. Vicki moved to Edwards AFB, California when she was eight years old, living there for almost ten years. In late 1977 she moved with Mom and Dad to their home in Brooks County Georgia and she has lived in Georgia since then. Vicki was a graduate of Desert High School in Edwards AFB, California in 1977 and received her BS in Accounting from Valdosta State College in 1992. She was employed by TM Polyfilm for 23 years working as the Controller when she retired.

On July 20, 1984, Vicki married the love of her life, Gary Rowe of Valdosta. Their marriage resulted in two sons, Garrett and Wesley. Gary also had two sons from a previous marriage, Ryan and Justin. Vicki’s greatest joy was her family. Her selfless love and devotion to Gary and all four sons and their families was evident. The entire family enjoyed many happy times together whether it was at home during the holidays, at ballgames, or on trips to Florida beaches and the Tennessee mountains. She took care of her father following her mother’s death in 2004. Always checking on him, helping him with errands and doctor’s appointments, inviting him to dinner, and making sure he was included at family events and holiday celebrations. Her life reflected the nine attributes that come to fruition in the life of a Christian found in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance”. Her character is best revealed during the past several years as she dealt with her illness. Although debilitating and painful, she continued to work, love, and take care of her family.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Gary Rowe of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Garrett and Chelsea Rowe of Hahira; son Wesley Rowe of Valdosta; stepson and daughter-in-law Ryan and Melissa Rowe of Knoxville, TN; stepson Justin Rowe of Knoxville, TN; six grandchildren, Charlotte, Grady, Jackson, Matthew, Kathryn and Hayden Rowe; brother Doug Rentz of Columbus; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Candy Rentz of Valdosta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
