Vera Kate Setser

Vera Kate Setser, died in her parents’ embrace at home on May 21, 2024. She was born on March 2, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA. In her 14 months of life, she filled each corner of every room with sweetness and happiness. Though she was little, her love was big- especially her love for her brother. She was perfect. In her last five months of life, her failing health drew everyone who knew her closer to God. She could do no greater work, were she given a lifetime. “Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.” Psalm 63:3

Survivors include her parents, Faith & Adam Setser, her brother, James Setser, all of Valdosta; her grandparents, Richie & Kelle Setser and Scott & Dawn Summers, all of Valdosta; uncle and aunt, Jared & Brittany Setser of Valdosta, aunt Hope Summers, also of Valdosta; Great grandparents, Rick & Faye Setser, Gary & Betty Gazlay, Mike & Kathie Dearing, Donald & Bonnie Summers, Jimmy & Dot McGee; cousins Owen, Henry & Anna Claire Setser. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Corinne Setser and cousin, Chandler Barrett Setser. 

The funeral for Vera Kate will be held at 2 pm in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Rev. Andy Parker and Rev. Chuck Owens will officiate. A private family burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 until 7 pm at the funeral home.
