Treva ( Aunt T ) Vickers, 94, of Hahira, died Friday, September 17, 2010 at Heritage Healthcare at Crestwood in Valdosta. She was born on September 26, 1915 in Lowndes County to the late Henry M. and Lula Shierling Courson. Mrs. Vickers was a retired certified nurse's aide from Smith Hospital and was a homemaker. She was a member of New Friendship Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Vickers is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Bobby and Grace Vickers and Johnny and Rudine Vickers, all of Hahira, eight grandchildren, Sherry Parker, Rhonda Green (Rick), Laura Fulp (Carl), Drew Vickers, Sandra Hall (Charles), Janet Newton (Kevin), Marsha Miley and John Paul Vickers, sixteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, H. Paul Vickers, her son, Howard Vickers, her granddaughter, Terrie Harwell, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at two p. m. at New Friendship Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thad Marshall and Elder Bob Dickerson officiating. She will be placed in the church at one p. m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Sunday at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to New Friendship Cemetery Fund, c/o Ronald Cowart, 9495 Coffee Road, Hahira, GA 31632.
