Traude Nestler, 95, of Hahira, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Germany on April 21, 1929 to the late Fritz Schmidt and Frieda Queisser Schmidt. She loved animals and was a homemaker. Mrs. Nestler was very proud of her collection of German memorabilia.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Cathy Nestler, of Edwards, MS; her daughter and son-in-law, Claudette and Bobby Carter, of Valdosta; granddaughter, Sara Nestler, of Jacksonville, FL; grandson, Michael (Michelle) Nestler, of Warner Robins, GA; nieces, Jeannie (Dave) Anderson and Siglinde (Achim) Koenig; nephews, Charlie Albritton and Gordon (Barbara) Albritton; and a special friend Mathilde Pieth, of Switzerland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Nestler, and sisters Hilda Albritton and Johanna Walther.
A private graveside service will be held at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Condolences to the family may be shared at www.mclanecares.com.
