Mrs. Thelma Nadine Head, 90, of Valdosta died in Cook County on Monday, June 3, 2024. Born in Rockmart, Georgia, on August 16, 1933, Nadine was the daughter of the late Edward Felix Landon and Thelma Christine Polk Landon. Widow of the late Tommy Eugene Head, she was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church. Nadine grew up in Griffin, Georgia. She began a lifetime career in childcare with AAFES at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson and then at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia and worked in childcare for 39 years. When her husband retired from Moody Air Force Base Nadine went to work at TKT Family Resources. She retired in the late 2000’s.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Cathy Head of Adel; grandchildren, Justin and April Ramella of Lakeland, Elizabeth and Brandon Ramella of Nashville, Makayla Ramella of Lakeland, Tristan and Tamie Head of Gilbert, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, James Landon, and Edward Landon.
A private service was held for Mrs. Head. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warrior, Tunnels to Towers or to the American Heart Association. Carson McLane Funeral Home has been entrusted with serving the family. www.mclanecares.com
