Terry Lee Thigpen, 75, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Mr. Thigpen was born on September 17, 1950. He graduated from Ware County High School and then attended VSU where he got his bachelor’s degree. He was a retired chemist for the City of Valdosta, and regularly donated to the VSU Biology Dept and conservation efforts. Mr. Thigpen’s hobbies included collecting stamps, coins, and baseball cards, and he loved travelling and going to the beach.

He is survived by his sister, Lee Thigpen Holden; step-daughter, Michelle (Greg) Nix; step-son, Michael Smith; step-grandchildren, Ariel Nix, Kayla Nix, Hannah Smith; and step-greatgrandchildren Milo Mistry and Oliver Hensley.
