Ted F. "Teddy" West II, 51, of Pensacola. FL, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, under the care of Covenant Hospice after a long illness.
He was born April 4, 1965 in Daytona Beach, FL, a son of Ted F. West and the late Carolyn Smith West. Teddy was a member of First Baptist Church of Valdosta, and he loved his family and friends. He was a talented football and baseball player; was inducted into the local Hall of Fame as well as the Valdosta Red Sox Hall of Fame; and enjoyed sharing his talent and love of sports by coaching youth baseball and football teams.
Teddy is survived by his father and step-mother, Ted F. and Elizabeth Beth West of Valdosta; his wife Sonya West of Pensacola, FL; three sons, Ted F. West III of Valdosta, Devin West and Cal West, both of Pensacola, FL; one daughter, Caroline West of Pensacola, FL; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Shannon West of Valdosta, and Christy and Jody McWaters of Ludowici; three nephews and one niece, Dawson Norris of Valdosta, Trinity McWaters of Ludowici, Justin and wife Brooke McWaters of Oklahoma, and Ryan and wife Ashlie McWaters of Valdosta; two step-sisters, Libbi Purvis of Adel, and Judy and husband Chris Cain of Nashville; beloved friends, Terri and Joe Welden of Valdosta, Georgi Banks of Valdosta, Margie Vining of Valdosta, and Amanda Watkins of Valdosta; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Teddy will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 in the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Dr. Chuck Owens officiating.
