Sylvia Higgins

Sylvia Dowling Higgins, 84, of Dasher passed away at Tift Regional Medical Center on Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was born in Lowndes County to the late James Carroll and Susie Turner Dowling on December 20, 1938. Mrs. Higgins was a member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ at which she taught Primary Sunday School and did other activities. She enjoyed reading and walking. Mrs. Higgins was the secretary for WOFSY (Women of For Serving Youth).

Mrs. Higgins is survived by her husband, William (Bill) A Higgins; her daughter, Suzie Higgins Negas, of Kennesaw; her son, William (Bill) Higgins, Jr. (Linda), of Lake Park, GA; her daughter, Sheila Higgins McCall (Amos Jr.), of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Christy Nash (Russ), Rachel Shirey (Allen), Alex McCall (Lisa), Savannah Negas; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Jack C. Dowling (Maggie), of Lowndes County, and Walter (Rudy) Dowling (Peggy), of Ousley. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services for Mrs. Sylvia Dowling Higgins will be at 3pm on Friday February 3,2023 at Central Avenue Church of Christ with Mr. John Klimko officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm at the church. Interment will follow at Dasher Cemetery.
