Suzanne "Huggins"
Fulbright
October 2, 1956 – May 17, 2026
Suzanne “Huggins” Fulbright, 69, Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, May 17 at Fellowship Home. She was born on October 2, 1956 in Kingston, North Carolina to the late Col. Norman P. Huggins and Mary June Norwood Huggins.
Mrs. Fulbright grew up in a military family, moving often during her childhood until her family settled in Valdosta around the time of her graduation from Hampton Roads High School in Virginia. She then went into the “ROTC” program at VSU and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force upon her graduation. It was there that she met her husband, Barry Fulbright, and after welcoming their son, Mrs. Fulbright separated from the Air Force to become a full time mother. Mr. Fulbright’s last duty station was Montgomery, AL, it was also there that he passed away, and so Mrs. Fulbright then returned to Valdosta to be closer to family.
She was known for her care and dedication to the garden center at The Crescent, and she particularly loved roses. She was also a frequent visitor at the 306 North restaurant, and loved going away to St. Simons and other areas of the Georgia Coast.
Mrs. Fulbright is survived by her son, John Norwood Fulbright of Cary, NC; her brother, Bruce Norwood Huggins and wife Jill Elaine Huggins of Georgetown, SC; and her nephews, Jonathan Huggins of Georgetown, SC, and Peter Huggins of Darlington, SC. She was preceded by her parents and her husband, Lt Col. Barry Dale Fulbright.
