Susan Y. Mixon Mcnew

Susan Y. McNew, 54, of Valdosta died on Monday, May 17, 2010, at her residence after a sudden illness. Born January 24, 1956 in Fontainebleau, France, she was the daughter of William H. Mixon and Edna Herring Mixon. Mrs. McNew worked for Convergenie as a Retail Marketing Representative.

Surviving are her daughter Sheila Taylor of Valdosta; son Rusty Taylor of Hahira; step-daughter Amy McNew of North Carolina; step-son Michael McNew of Chesterfield, Virginia; brothers Chris Mixon, Eric Mixon of Valdosta and Grady Mixon of Fargo, Georgia; and seven grandchildren. Susan was predeceased by her husband Richard McNew.

Funeral services will be held at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 2pm with Pastor Keith Allsbrook officiating. Burial will follow at the Carter Cemetery in Echols County. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home between the hours of 6 and 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations.
