Sonya Marie Lackey, cherished wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. Born on August 2, 1962, in Greenville, South Carolina, Sonya was the beloved daughter of the late Allan and Frances Marie Adams.

Sonya dedicated over 30 years to serving the Lowndes and surrounding counties as a respected Realtor and Property Manager, building lasting relationships through her professionalism and warm spirit. She shared a loving 39-year marriage with her husband, Daryl Lackey, and was a devoted mother to their son, Sean Allan Lackey, and his wife, Allison.

Family was at the heart of Sonya’s life. She is fondly remembered by her brother-in-law, Keith Lackey and his wife Darlene; sister-in-law, Kathy Lackey; as well as her nieces and nephews, all of whom treasured her kindness and generosity.

Sonya found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time at the beach, admiring classic, muscle, and sports cars, and most importantly, creating memories with family and friends.

A graveside service to honor Sonya’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
