Shirley T. Hurst, age 89, of Valdosta, GA, passed away peacefully at her home on April 17, 2026 from a lengthy illness. She was born on August 15, 1936 to the late George and Dolly Seay White.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Hurst; a daughter, Shirley Renea Hurst; a great grandson, Benjamin Hurst; siblings, Hazel Osbourne, Buddy White, Ed (Nettie) White, Jack (Sara) White, and Ronald White. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Hurst; son, Ronnie “Schooner” (Tara) Hurst; grandchildren, Dylan (Kali), Ashlie (Jordan), Aubrey (Zach), Anna, Daniel, and Jesse; four great grandchildren; sisters Joann Barnes and Betty (Darrel) Woods; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 21 at 11am at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Frank Gupton officiating. The family will receive friends and family at the McLane Funeral Home on Monday, April 20 from 5 – 7 p.m.
