Ryan Chase Miner, 18, of Valdosta, died from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Gulf County, FL on Sunday, September 9, 2007. He was born in Austin, TX on January 21, 1989, attended Valwood from 5th through 11th grade, graduated from Valdosta High School, and was attending college in Panama City, FL. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and surfing. Ryan attended Crossroads Baptist Church and was also a volunteer with the Gulf County Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Susan Miner Wright and Tim Wright; his father and stepmother, Allen and Katie Miner, all of Valdosta; a brother, Reagan Kyle Miner; sisters, Marianne Wright and Marlow Wright, all of Valdosta; grandparents, Jerry and Alice Stephens of Georgetown, TX, Margaret Miner of Bryan, TX, Patsy Vaughn of McRae, Charles R. and Mary Lou Wright of Adel, great grandmothers, Ethel Lou Stephens of San Antonio, TX and Audrey Larson of Midland, TX Ryan is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Mike and Cay Miner of Bryan, TX, David Stephens of Austin, TX, Chris Steverson of Douglas, Charlie Wright of Boynton Beach, FL, and several other aunts, uncles, cousins and many other people that he touched and were special friends who loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Alford officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ryan Chase Miner Memorial Fund, c/o Ed Hutchinson, First State Bank, P.O. box 4810, Valdosta, GA 31604.
