Russell Craig MacMillan, 60, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 after a ten month battle with lung cancer.

Born on April 26, 1966, son of Douglas K. MacMillan and Marilyn A. MacMillan, Russell grew up on Cherry Hill Farm in Lunenburg Massachusetts learning the value of a hard days work and running wild with his brothers and sisters.

Russell graduated from Lunenburg High School and went on to become a jack of all trades proclaiming; “I went to school for it in my sleep!” There truly was not much Russell wasn’t willing to at least try to do himself. Russell worked for years alongside family at Cherry Hill Farm and held a variety of mechanical, sales, and operational positions, there was not much Russell couldn’t fix or drive!

Russell enjoyed fishing, MGB cars, and Kansas City Chiefs football. He had a passion for photography and a love of the written word. He sought to find the beautiful in the mundane, and was often pausing to take a picture of the details that most would over look. It wasn’t often he couldn’t be heard singing or whistling and on the best days you could hear him coming from a mile away.

Russell was not afraid to get his hand dirty, or lose a thumb, he was willing to bend over backwards to help you out and would give you the shirt off his back. He walked into a room and naturally commanded attention with his warm welcomes and quick jokes.

Russell is survived by his mother Marilyn MacMillan, daughter and son in law Briana & Todd Duval, son and daughter in law Craig & Ferris MacMillan, brothers Robert & Raymond MacMillan, sister Helen Malone, sister & brother in law Sharon and Charlie Kimball, numerous nieces & nephews, and his grandchildren; Rowan & Xander Duval and Maverick & Regan MacMillan.

Russell is predeceased by his father Douglas MacMillan, son Kevin MacMillan, and grandson Easton Russell Duval.
