Russell E. Grizzell

Russell E. Grizzell, 90, of Valdosta, died on Friday, July 28, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Niangua, MO to the late Ezra S. & Dessie E. Grizzell, Mr. Grizzell had lived in this area since 1941. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and had owned and operated Grizzell Auto Repair from 1950 until 1986.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Kirk Grizzell, of Valdosta; a daughter and son in law, Mary Alice & Lee R. Cook of Decatur; two grandchildren and their spouses, Russ & Barbara Cook of Charlotte, NC, and Liz & Barry McNeal of Wiley, TX; four great grandchildren, Megan Kathleen McNeal, Shawn Elliott McNeal, both of Wiley, TX, Robert Alexander Cook and Katherine Elizabeth Cook, both of Charlotte, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

A private family memorial service will be held for Mr. Grizzell at a later time and his cremains interred at Sunset Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20006-3517. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
