Ronnie Hesters, surrounded by his family, went home to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, March 7, 2025. Ronnie the only child of Doris Hiers Hesters and Bervin Hesters, was born July 25, 1940 in Tampa, Florida. He is preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Wiggins Hesters and his daughter Jenny Lynn Hesters.
Ronnie was the epitome of the love of Christ. He made it his life's mission to share Gods love and the gospel to everyone he came in contact with, as evidenced by his service in missions to many countries including Russia, Latvia, India, Mexico, Peru, Belgium.
Ronnie's ministry began in 1969 when he founded Immanuel Baptist Church in Nashville, Georgia. Many of the long-term relationships formed at this church remain today and has produced generations that know the lord within these families. Ronnie also served as a home church pastor through New Covenant Church for 20 years, he also was involved with the Kairos Prison Ministry. Ronnie served as a chaplain at SGMC for a time, as well.
His influence has and will continue to be felt around the world.
Ronnie's love for Jesus was immense. He loved his family and his beautiful wife "Snookie" with all of his heart.
He is survived by his daughters Julie Beale and Beth Hesters of Valdosta, GA; granddaughter Lindsey Dailey of Perry, GA; grandson Johnathan Carman of Katy, TX, grandson Joseph Bottiglieri of Valdosta, GA, grandson Aaron Beale of Valdosta, GA, grandson Adam Hesters, of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter Abbie Twehous of Columbia, MO; and his great grandchildren Annie Grace and Cooper Hayes, of Perry, GA.
The family will have a memorial service at 1pm on Friday, March 14, 2025 at New Covenant Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclanecares.com.
