Ronald V. Rogers, 80, of Lake Park, died on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his residence following a period of declining health. Born in Valdosta to the late Harley & Bernice Coggins Rogers, he had been a lifelong resident of this area. Growing up in Jennings, FL, he graduated from Jennings High School in 1962, where he played football and was voted Best All-Around during his senior year. Ronald had already started working on the family farm from an early age, but after high school, he also began planting pines and operating heavy equipment. One day while working in tobacco, he met the former Linda Crosby. They soon started dating and were married on December 4, 1970. The following year, Ronald started working at Occidental in White Springs, FL, and worked there until his retirement in 2000. His favorite pastime was ‘piddlin’, which could mean anything from tinkering on equipment, working outside or getting ready to go hunting. Ronald was a member of the Alapaha Lodge #209 in Statenville and the Jennings Assembly of God.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Linda Crosby Rogers, of Lake Park; three sons and a daughter in law, Chad & Shannon Rogers, Conrad C. Rogers and Adrian Rogers, all of Lake Park; nine grandchildren, Tyler Rogers, Austin (& Emily) Rogers, Ethan Rogers, Drew (& Emmy) Rogers, all of Lake Park, Phillip Rogers of Adel, Noah Rogers of Lake Park, Brooke (& Levi) Herring of Jennings, Connie Lynn Rogers and Madison Rogers, both of Lake Park. Two great grandchildren and one soon expected, Kensley Rogers, Ward Herring and Mallory Rogers. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Ode Franklin Rogers, Jams S. Rogers and Donald G. Rogers.

The funeral for Mr. Rogers will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. Brother Dereck Herring will officiate. The burial will follow at Wrights Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 10 am until service time at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Wrights Chapel Church of Echols County Cemetery fund.
