Ronald R. Green, 62 of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born on July 3, 1942 in Lowndes County. He retired from the Lowndes County Sherrif’s Department as a Lieutenant and was of the Christian Faith. He was a Mason and a Shriner and was a member of Azalea Lodge 716. He was fond of nature and animals.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Green of Valdosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Hope and Tony Hand of Lake Park, Greta and Bobby Petitt of Mansfield, OH; son, Bruce Barnes of Lake Park; grandchildren, Lance Culpepper of Lake Park, Chad Culpepper of Lake Park, Erica Michelle Bowman of Mansfield, OH; his mother, Nellie Vaughn of Valdosta; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles Green of Adel, Sam and Lucy Green of Valdosta; a special cousin, Robert Green of Dasher; a special friend, Bryant Guthrie of Valdosta and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Green.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2004 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
