Richard Craig Gulick, 76, of Naylor, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. Born on March 28, 1949, in Lyons, Kansas, Richard was the beloved son of the late David Densmore and Mary Helen Kennedy.
A devoted patriot, Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years. Serving during the Vietnam Era, notably with the Airborne Command Post in Southeast Asia. His dedication and commitment to service extended beyond his military career, as he continued to serve the community as a corrections officer for 19 years with the Georgia State Prison System following his retirement from the Air Force.
Richard was a man of faith and a member of the Presbyterian Church, finding strength and comfort through his beliefs. His life was marked by his service, his integrity, and his steadfastness.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: sons Joseph (JT) Gulick of Abilene, Texas, Christopher Shane Gulick of Valdosta, Georgia, and daughter Kelly Roberts and her husband Randy Roberts of Clyde, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa Gulick of Petaluma, California. Richard was preceded in death by his life partner, Sharon Vennelwieber.
Family, friends, and all who knew Richard are invited to honor his memory with funeral services on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In recognition of his honorable service, Richard will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
