Rodney Keith Childree, Sr., of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on June 25, 1960, to the late Hugh M. Childree and Pat Owens Childree.

He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Rodney was an avid outdoorsman whose favorite place to spend time was Lake Seminole. He enjoyed fishing and hunting deer and dove. He had a love for tennis, which was the sport he taught his sons growing up. He worked in contractor sales for many years before he started his own rod and reel repair shop called “Reel World”.

Mr. Childree is survived by his sons, Keith Childree, Jr. (Lacey), Parker Childree (Fania), and Jamie Childree, all of Valdosta; his brother, Gary Childree (Phyllis); his sister, Judy Childree; his grandchild, Nolan Childree; and nieces, Ansley Heninger and Angie Childree. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne Childree.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Northside Baptist Church, with Pastor Robby Foster officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
