Robert Martin, 60, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Pensacola, Florida on July 23, 1962, to the late Curtis Hall Martin, Sr., and Ruth Ann Pratt Martin. Robert was the former owner/operator of Zacadoos on Inner Perimeter and had only recently retired. Robert enjoyed his job and had many customers who returned to his store not only for the food, but his open and caring nature. He loved playing golf and spending time with his family and friends. Robert was of the Baptist faith.


He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Martin of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Ariel and Rickey Foster of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Taylor and Kayleigh Luke of Valdosta, and Jason and Celena Vickers of Suwanee, Florida; daughter, Courtney Goddard of Barnesville, GA.; daughter Whitney Chase of Orlando, FL.; his grandchildren, Rickey Foster, Jr., Evelyn Foster, Ansley Vickers, Reese Goddard, Tinnley Goddard, Cort Mason Herndon, and Olivia Chase; brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis Lee and Jennifer Hastings of Missouri, Curtis Hall, Jr and Valerie Martin of North Carolina, Eddie and Sandi Martin of Texas, and Reid Martin of Valdosta; his parents-in-law, Colin and Diane Luke of Valdosta; special friends, Phil Etheridge, Scott and Ferlie Buckingham, and Cameron Hines all of Valdosta; his four-legged friend (fur baby) Izzy; numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded by his son, William Justin Vickers.


Services for Robert Martin will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Ray Bailey, Jr., officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Martin will be cremated following formal services, in accordance with his wishes.
