Robert Gary Nixon, 65, of Valdosta, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born June 24, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late Earl and Mildred DiDotti Nixon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired Chef.
He is survived by his wife Katherine Ann Diggs Nixon of Valdosta; a son, Robert Gary Nixon, Jr. of Valdosta; a daughter, Katie Meyers of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Kayley Nixon, Owen Meyers, Ryan Meyers and Collin Meyers; and one brother, Donny Nixon of Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Nixon.
In keeping with his wishes cremation will take place and there will be no services. Carson McLane Funeral Home is assisting the Nixon family.
