Robert "Bob" Futch

Robert "Bob" Futch, 83, of Lake Park, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on September 25, 1924 in St. Elmo, Tennessee to the late Lacy Elbert and Jewell Wright Futch. Mr. Futch was a retired life insurance agent with Coastal States Life Insurance Company and was a retired salesman with Wilkes Construction. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

Mr. Futch is survived by his wife, Lawanna M. Futch of Lake Park, two daughters and sons in law, Carolyn and Allen Blanton and Lisa A. and Jerry Chitty of Lake Park, one son and daughter in law, Matt and Ashley Futch of Jesup, six grandchildren, Stephen McGilvray (Veronica), Lacee McGilvray, Luke Blanton, Walker Blanton, Hayden Futch and Riley Futch, one great granddaughter, Christian McGilvray and one great grandson, Cayde McGilvray.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008 at two p. m. at Sardis Baptist Church with Reverend Mickey Corbett, Reverend Garvie Nichols and Reverend George Ehling officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery. He will lie in state in the church for one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m.
