Reginald Gene Carter, of Valdosta died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at his home. He was born in Beckley, West Virginia and had lived in Valdosta for thirty years. Mr. Carter retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after twenty seven years of service having served in Korea and Vietnam.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons in law, Belinda and Calvin Renfroe, Janas Smith, Reba and Ralph Bruce, son and daughter in law, Alan and Mary Carter, all of Valdosta; daughter-in-law, Sandra Carter of Valdosta; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Simmerman Carter, two sons, Roger L. Carter and Reginald Gene Carter.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1pm, Friday, April 18, 2008 at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.
