Fanni LuRaney Futch White passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 92. Raney was born on November 6, 1933, to the late Iris Taylor Futch and Lucious Robert (Bob) Futch and grew up in Cook County. Upon graduating high school, she moved to Valdosta where she met and married Donald Eugene (Don) White who was then stationed at Moody Air Force Base. Together, they raised three children: Donna White Staley (married to William), Robert White (married to Pam) of Tavira Portugal, and David White (married to Kelly) of Suwanee, GA.
Married 51 years, Raney and Don were blessed with six grandchildren: Wes Staley (married to Kim Vay) of McKinney, Texas; Kenneth Staley (married to Amanda) of North Augusta; Alex White (married to Ali) of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; Margaret Ann White; Logan White of Atlanta, and Lael White of Suwanee; and two great-grandchildren, Kennedy Staley of McKinney, Texas, and Ansley Staley of North Augusta.
A proud methodist, Raney was a member of Salem United Methodist Church all of her life and served as Church Secretary for more than 20 years. She was an avid sports fan (especially basketball and baseball) and was always in the stands for Robert and David’s games while they were growing up.
Raney enjoyed a 48-year career with Blanton and Griffin Insurance Services, retiring at the age of 72. As empty nesters, she and Don moved backed to her family farm in Cecil where they enjoyed visits with their grandchildren on weekends and during summers. Raney remained there until 2018 when she reluctantly moved to the Johns Creek, GA area to be near her son David and his family.
She is preceded in death by her daughter; brother, Jack Futch; her parents; sister, Hazel Futch; husband, Don, and her granddaughter, Margaret Ann White. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6 at 1 pm at the Martin McLane Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2 pm at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation. You may convey condolences online at mclanecares.com
