Philip Touchton, 45, of Valdosta, died suddenly on Friday August 19, 2022. Born on April 25, 1977, in Valdosta to Gary Charles Touchton and Linda Marie Zipperer, Philip grew up in Cordele. He graduated from Crisp County High School in 1995. Philip served in the United States Army after high school as an Airborn Ranger at Ft. Benning. He returned to Valdosta following his Army service and went to work for Jack Coker, as an apprentice, learning the trade of plumbing. He worked as a plumber for 20 years, starting and successfully operating his own business, Philip Touchton Plumbing. Philip loved to go fishing with Kevin Touchton at Mexico Beach or in any pond, big or small he could find. He was a hard worker, devoted to his wife, children, parents, sisters and his extended family. Philip was an avid Georgia Tech football fan.
Survivors are his wife, April Culpepper Touchton of Valdosta; son, Zachary Touchton of North Carolina, daughter, Abagail Touchton of Valdosta,; his mother, Linda Touchton of Tifton; father, Gary and Susan Touchton of Valdosta; sisters, Jennifer and Travis Norris of Valdosta, Pamela and Joe Craddock of Canton; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Philip was preceded in death by a daughter, Madalyn Touchton, and his grandparents, Clinton and Ruth Zipperer, Quarterman and Mary Nell Touchton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Copeland Cemetery. Mr. Tommy Bussey and Mr. Marcus Zipperer will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Flowers are welcome and donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
