Paul Robert Neuda, 84, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on June 6, 1939, in Vienna Austria to the late Dr. Paul M. Neuda M.D., and Rosalie Neuda. He was preceded by his wife, Gloria George Neuda; a grandson, Scott Chesser; a niece, Shayna Shapiro Garland; a nephew, Steve Haltiwanger, and his sisters-in-law, Marie George Beam and Clementine George Haltiwanger.
He is survived by his daughter, Aurelia Neuda; his granddaughter, Brittany Chesser; his great-granddaughters, Erika Chesser and Michelle Taylor; his sisters, Jane Neuda and Maria Neuda; his sister-in-law, Barbara George Shapiro; his nieces and nephews and their spouses, Lisa and Patrick Newton, Roxanne Beam, Kent Beam, Jr., Carlo and Shirley Beam, and Micah Shapiro, Randy and Amy Haltiwanger; his cousins, Leona Abood and Sister Angela Abood; several great nieces and great nephews
Paul emigrated to the United States in 1939 and settled in New York City. Mr. Neuda graduated from Fordham University in 1962 in New York City with a B.S. degree in Finance and subsequently received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force concurrent with his graduation. He earned his wings as an Air Force pilot in 1963 and was assigned to Moody Air Force Base as an instructor pilot the following year. As his tour of duty was completed, he went into his own business providing advertising and marketing services with Jemar Company. He was also a publisher of numerous banking and aviation publications. Aviation was his first love and he continued flying in pursuit of his business interests. He was a Board Member of several aviation organizations including the Contest and Records Board of the National Aeronautic Association headquartered in Washington D.C. along with various private aviation boards. Paul also held an aviation world speed record recognized by the National Aeronautic Association and its French counterpart, The Federation Aeronautique Internationale. Mr. Neuda was of the Catholic faith.
A graveside service for Paul Robert Neuda will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 with Father Dario Diaz officiating.
