Pamala L. Mooney Ricks, a devoted mother, grandmother, and respected public servant, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and quiet courage that will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
Pamela was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ben and Louise Mooney, and by her husband, Jim C. Ricks, whom she loved deeply and is now reunited with in eternal peace.
She is survived by her loving children, Jay Ricks (Carla), Michelle Ricks, Tracy Ricks, and her cherished stepson, Matt Graves (Jasmine). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Ashley Rojas (lsreal), Corey Ricks, Melani Frias, Kayla Ricks, Jade Ricks, Ella Ricks, Jack Ricks and several treasured great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her sister Teri Mooney.
Pamela honorably served her community as a retired Valdosta City Police Officer, dedicating many years to protecting and serving with integrity, professionalism, and compassion. Her career reflected her deep sense of duty and her heart for helping others.
Those who knew Pamela remember her as strong yet gentle, resilient yet kind - a woman whose love for her family was unwavering and whose presence brought comfort and steadiness to those around her.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public service and her family will honor her life privately.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her life.
