She soon started work here as a bookkeeper in Mr. Brandon’s accounting firm. She learned many things about accounting and bookkeeping from Mr. Brandon during her time there. She went on to be a bookkeeper for Pineview Medical Center, now South Georgia Medical Center, and then later at the Valdosta Country Club. She worked at VCC for over 30 years before retiring in the mid 2000’s. Her favorite pastimes were growing flowers in her yard, caring for her pets, especially her cats and spending time with her grandchildren. She formerly attended Northside Baptist Church.
