Nancy Lu Newell

Nancy Dickens Newell, 66, of Valdosta died Saturday, September 25, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born on May 14, 1955 at Warren AFB, Wyoming to the late Joseph William and Marie Monzaneves Dickens and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Newell was a member of the Pine Grove Community Baptist Church and a retired special education teacher with the Lowndes County School System.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Newell; daughter Christine Rice, of Albany, GA; son Steven Bradley Newell (Kelly), of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Abigail Rice and Avery Rice; brother, Jimmy Dickens (Pam), of Mobile, AL; and sister, Linda Dickens. Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Newell and brother Tommy Dickens.
