Nancy Jane Conway, 87, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Washington State on April 24, 1939, to the late Charles Lester Bean and Natalie Elizabeth Stephenson Bean.

Mrs. Conway spent much of her early life in various states, as her father served as a Colonel in the United States Army. She attended high school in Norfolk, Virginia, graduating from Granby High School. She later pursued nursing at St. Vincent De Paul School of Nursing and began her career in Baltimore following her graduation. During this time, she met Charles Conway at church; the two began dating and were married in October 1960. Mrs. Conway soon stepped away from her nursing career to devote herself to raising her family.

In later years, Mrs. Conway attended Strayer Business College, where she developed secretarial skills and subsequently worked for Crown Central Petroleum in Baltimore. In 1994, Mrs. Conway and her husband moved to Valdosta to be closer to their grandchildren, embracing their return to the South. They attended Airport Church of Christ and, more recently, Lake Park Church of Christ.

Mrs. Conway was a devoted and faithful Christian who dedicated her life to serving the Lord and her family. She cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes included music—playing and teaching guitar, playing the piano, singing, and listening to classical music—as well as a deep appreciation for England and Scotland.

Mrs. Conway is survived by her son, Matthew E. Conway of Tallahassee, Florida; her daughter and son-in-law, Natalie Elizabeth and Coy Wisenbaker of Valdosta; and her grandchildren: Adam Coy Wisenbaker (Nina) of Hahira; Penny Lynn Hampton (Wade) of Savannah; Charles Luke Wisenbaker (Chaeli) of Valdosta; Grace Elizabeth Wisenbaker (Kellam Bartley) of White Springs, Florida; and Hannah Katherine Wisenbaker of Valdosta. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Marilyn Jane Carter, Scarlett Lucy Carter, Coy William Hampton, Norah Laine Wisenbaker, Vann Lewis Wisenbaker, Luke Fields Wisenbaker, Jane Elizabeth Wisenbaker, and Emily Ann Wisenbaker.

Additional survivors include her brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Debra Bean of Southport, North Carolina, and Chuck and Shirley McBeth of Santa Rosa, California; her sister-in-law, Doris Guinn of Cartersville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Conway was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Conway.

A funeral service for Mrs. Conway will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Lake Park Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Condolences may be shared online at www.mclanecares.com.

Arrangements are entrusted to Carson McLane Funeral Home.
