Morris L. Smith, 76, of Valdosta passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at South GA Medical Center. He was born on November 12, 1941 in Adel, GA to the late Lillie B. Wilson Smith and Henry Smith. Morris served in the United States Army, was a professional musician and was a project manager for the Orvis Company for twenty eight years. Along with his wife, Sharon, he loved music, fishing, his family, grandchildren, his many friends, good jokes and his beloved dogs, Luke and Macy. Everyone that knew him loved him.
He is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Sharon P. Smith of Valdosta, his sons, James Peacock of Navarre, FL and Marcus Smith of Valdosta, daughters and sons in law, Samantha Wood (Tracy Wood) of Woodstock, GA and Holly Smith (Joel Willis) of Valdosta, brother, B. L. Smith of Valdosta, sisters, Hinda Magee of Valdosta and Joan Kellum of Phoenix, AZ, Aunt, Ruby Wilson of Americus, cousins, Lucy Carter of Valdosta, Brenda Guthrie of Adel and Chris Reid of Americus, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren and sister in law, Virginia Bland of Woodstock.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at eleven a. m. at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from six until eight p.m. Thursday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to ASPCA.org
