Michael A. “Mike” Bledsoe, 67, of Hahira, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Warner Robins, GA, Mike was the son of the late Samuel Buford Bledsoe and Minnie Lee Lassiter Bledsoe.
After graduating from Gupton-Jones Mortuary School in 1979, Mike moved to Hahira and began his career at Martin Funeral Home. It was here that he met the love of his life, Tracy Lynne Miley, whom he married and with whom he raised a wonderful family. Mike came to work for Carson McLane Funeral Home in 1982 and continued his true calling as a funeral director with the McLane family, becoming a trusted and compassionate guide for countless families during their times of loss.
Mike was a proud member of the Lions Club and the Academy of Graduate Embalmers, where he served as President from 2000-2001, as well as the Past Presidents Club. Outside of his professional life, he enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, camping, and spending time with his beloved Australian Shepherd, Sydney. Above all, Mike treasured his family and the moments they shared together.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Tracy Miley Bledsoe; daughters and sons-in-law Michaela and Nick Kean, and Krystin and Chad Daugherty, all of Hahira; son and daughter-in-law Sean and Katie Bledsoe of Jennings, FL; and his cherished grandchildren Gabriella Daugherty, Jonathan Bledsoe, Lilly Daugherty, Maddox Kean, Miley Daugherty, Olivia Kean, Brayden Kean, Natalie Lee, Kaleb Davis, and Emerson Bledsoe.
Mike is also survived by his brother Sammy Bledsoe (Myra) of Americus, GA; sister and brother-in-law Susan and Mark Orsino of Barnesville, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law Virgil and Linda Miley of Hahira; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Vanessa and Paul Trondson of Hahira; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Kathryn Miley of Hahira; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Parker Zane Bledsoe, great-grandson Grady Nicholas Daugherty, his parents, and sister-in-law Sibyl Bledsoe.
A funeral service to honor Mike’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at New Life Baptist Church in Adel, Georgia. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Mike will be laid to rest at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira.
Flowers will be gratefully accepted, or memorials may be made to Georgia State Parks or Florida State Parks.
