Mieczyslaw Ostapski, 85, of Beverly Hills, FL, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on September 6, 1923, in Ostromeczyn, Poland, he was the son of the late Stanislaw and Jadwiga Wawaryniak Ostapski. He was a cadet in the Polish Army. Mr. Ostapski also worked as a metalworker on the Statue of Liberty and in the 1964 World's Fair.
Survivors include his wife, Antonia F. Mueller Ostapski of Beverly Hills, FL; son and daughter-in-law, S. Andrew and Maribel Ostapski; granddaughters, Victoria Ostapski and Andrea Ostapski, all of Valdosta.
Services will be held at 12:10 P.M. on Friday, October 17, 2008 at St. John's Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Riverview Mausoleum. Condolences to the family may be conveyed on the obituary page at www.mclanefuneralservices.com Carson McLane Funeral Home.
