Mickey Hagan

December 16, 1953 — August 1, 2025

Lake Park, GA

David Michael “Mickey” Hagan, 71, of Lake Park, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 1, 2025. Born on December 16, 1953, in Tallahassee, Florida, Mickey was the son of Betty Jean Simmons Hagan and the late Harold Dean Hagan.

Mickey moved to Valdosta at an early age and graduated from Lowndes High School in 1971. He briefly attended Valdosta State College before beginning his career. His early work was in the restaurant business, but in 1975, Mickey began a nearly 20-year tenure at Occidental. In the mid-1990s, he joined the family business, Bay-Meadow Corporation General Contractors, where he worked for 12 years. Later, he contributed his talents at the Home Depot Distribution Center in Lake Park until his retirement in 2018.

A lifelong Florida State University Seminole fan, Mickey loved football and found joy in coaching little league teams. He was also a passionate listener of music, particularly the Beatles. Above all, Mickey was a devoted father, grandfather, son, and brother who dedicated himself to caring for his family with unwavering love and support.

Mickey is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Michele Jones, and son, Eric Michael Hagan, both of Lake Park; his grandchildren, Solomon Broman of Jacksonville, and Brooke and Olivia Broman of Lake Park. He is also survived by his loving mother, Betty Hagan; sister, Judy Hagan; and brother, Greg Hagan, all of Lake Park. His nephews Josh (Desiré) Hagan of Valdosta, Bradley Hagan of Lake Park, and David (Morgan) Hagan, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, will cherish their memories of him. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Hagan.

A funeral service to honor Mickey’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the River Pavilion at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Stanley Luke officiating.
