Michelle Wheeler, age 58, of Hahira, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Valdosta on March 6, 1967, she was the daughter of Jerry Lee Bennett and Dorris Sue McCollum Barnard.

A proud graduate of Valdosta High School in 1985, Michelle continued her education at Valdosta State College. Michelle was a devoted homemaker who also contributed her time and talents to Feathers and Fins Pet Grooming. She served with distinction as the manager of the KOA Campground for 10 years, where her leadership was widely recognized and appreciated. Later, she dedicated 10 years as a housemother at the Georgia Sheriffs Boys Ranch, nurturing and supporting young lives with unwavering care.

An active member of Pine Grove Community Baptist Church, Michelle was known for her creative spirit. She found joy in her craft room, sewing and creating beautiful handmade items that reflected her loving and artistic nature.

Michelle is survived by her loving husband, Ken Wheeler of Hahira; her son, Caleb Wheeler of Hahira; her mother, Dorris Barnard of Lake Park; her father, Jerry (Glenda) Bennett of Lake Park; her brother, Lee (Kelly) Bennett of Delaware; brother-in-law, Mark (Stephanie) Wheeler of Valdosta; mother-in-law, Cheryl Wheeler of Valdosta; and several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, James Wheeler; stepsister, Melinda Rehberg; and stepfather, Kenneth Barnard.
