Michael Darrel
Newman
October 12, 1959 – April 8, 2026
Michael “Mike” Newman, a beloved father, outdoorsman, and man of deep faith, passed away on April 8, 2026 at the age of 66.
He was a man who found his greatest joy in the beauty of the outdoors. Whether he was hunting at sunrise, casting a line into quiet waters, or walking wooded trails in search of arrowheads, he felt most at home surrounded by nature. His appreciation for the land went beyond recreation—he was a true woodsman, gifted with a natural artistic ability that allowed him to create and appreciate Native American artifacts with great care and respect. His craftsmanship and passion reflected both his creativity and his deep connection to history and the earth.
Above all, Mike loved Jesus, prayed daily, and had a dependent relationship with Christ. He lived with quiet strength, integrity, and a servant’s heart, always striving to reflect God’s love in his own way.
He will be remembered for his caring spirit, his wisdom, and the way he loved for his family.
Mike is survived by daughter, Carolyn Stewart (Dickie) of Boston, Georgia, grandsons, Peyton Stewart, Grayson Porter, and Braydon Stewart of Boston, Georgia, sister, Sandra Lake of Valrico, Florida, nephew Caleb Lake (Diana) of Valrico, Florida, niece Kimberly Lake of Valrico, Florida, along with several cousins. He is also survived by his beloved companion, his dog, Sport. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Newman, mother, Loette Perry, son, Mikey Eugene, brother-in-law, Stephen Lake, nephew, Joshua Lake.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
