Michael Alan Dekle, age 68, of Lake Park, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Mr. Dekle was born on September 1, 1955, in Pelham, Georgia to the late Milwood and Frances Porter Dekle. A veteran of the United States Army, he had served for 11 years on active duty and 3 years in the reserves. A recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, his duty stations included Korea and Germany. A proud veteran, Mr. Dekle was honored by the Daughters of the Confederacy for his family heritage of military service, all the way back to the Civil War. He was employed by the Colquitt Board of Education as an HVAC specialist. A faithful member of Victory Baptist Church, Mr. Dekle was also a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. 

Survivors are his wife, Patsy Dekle of Lake Park; son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. W. Dekle (Cheral) of Lantry, South Dakota;  two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelley Robinson (Matthew) of Lake Park; Selena Dukes (Brandon) of Lake Park; eight grandchildren, Cameron, Garrick, Zachary, and Stetson Dekle, of Lantry South Dakota; Sadie & Madelyn Robinson, Griffin & Gearis Dukes of Lake Park.   Also surviving are two brothers, Patrick Dekle and Cary Dekle of Mitchell County, numerous nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Cox, two brothers, Ashley Dekle and Dr. Andrew Dekle.

A funeral service for Mr. Dekle will be on Tuesday March 26, 2024, at 11:00 am at Victory Baptist Church with the Reverend Elkin Harnage officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
