Mary Lou Shelton

Mary Lou Shelton, 80, of Statenville, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at her home. She was born on October 3, 1942, in Horry County, SC, to the late Wiley Day and Louise Bellemy Day. Mrs. Shelton enjoyed needle point, crocheting, quilting, and spending time with her family. She worked for many years at the gate keeper at Jennings GP motor track, and was a people person.

Mrs. Shelton is survived by her children, Dorothy Dodero, of Cheyenne, WY, Sheila (Charles) Bostick, of Statenville, GA, and Glenn (Lori) Umberger, Jr, of Lake Park, GA; fourteen grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren; a brother, Bryan Day, of Williamsburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Shelton, her parents, and three brothers, Billy Day, Bobby Day, and Sammy Day.
