Mary Helen (Lowery) Wilson was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was spunky and determined, and passed peacefully in her sleep in the early afternoon on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026 after a prolonged illness. She passed in her home with family who loved her by her side. To the very end, she was independent and determined to live on her own terms.

Helen was predeceased by George M. Wilson (husband), Russell J. Snellgrove (son), Roy H. Lowery (brother), Marjorie Jeanette Lowery (Sister-in-Law), and her adopted parents James Bishop and Gentie (Watson) Lowery.

Helen’s surviving relatives include Ronald H. Lowery and Kenneth P. Lowery (nephews).

Helen Wilson graduated Valdosta High School in 1959. She lived most of her life after highschool in the metro Atlanta area, where she worked and raised her family. She returned to Valdosta in 2014 to be closer to family while enjoying her retirement during which she served with her sister-in-law Jeanette in the Red Hat Club and the Garden Club of Valdosta.
