Mary (Dunn) Browning, our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, was called by God to her heavenly home on March 7, 2018. Born on October 24, 1927 in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Bertha Dunn. Mary was married to Heyward C. Browning and their union was blessed with seven children.
Mary was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she enjoyed her bible study, and working at Vacation Bible School serving snacks. She especially enjoyed listening to gospel music.
Preceded in death by her husband, and her son, Philip Mickle Browning, Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nelda (Jack) Joiner; her sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell (Dena) Browning, Hayward (Ellen) Browning, Steven Browning, Martin (Jean) Browning, Russell (Karmen) Browning; and Vicki Browning; twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Jo (Collis) Adams of Perry, Florida, and Annie Sermons of Nashville; two sisters-in-law, Inell Daniels of Valdosta, Vivian Browning of Vilano Beach, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Browning will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Sunnie Bland will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Nashville. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heritage House Activities Fund. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at www.mclanecares.com.
